Fu Jiazi attends a gathering with his pal, Ken, and is attracted to a girl named Liu Youle. She gets a lift from them and asks to be dropped off near the woods, as she wants to take a walk. Soon after, Jiazi and Ken are involved in a traffic accident. Ken dies. Youle is attacked while on her walk and is seriously injured. She is saved by Wang Ruojun. Ken�s parents blame Jiazi for Ken�s death. Ken�s sister, Xiwen, consoles him. Blaming himself for not being able to save Ken, Jiazi decides to give up his job and become a nurse. Xie Yaozong is on his way to meet his girlfriend, Fangfang, when Guan Xinni asks to borrow his mobile phone and money because she has been robbed. He suspects her of being a con woman and refuses. She flies into a rage.
